A finished surface!

It's only tile, but anything these days that's a finished surface gets us a little excited.  It's actually not totally finished.  White, grey or black grout...these are the things we ponder at night.

I guess they'd prefer to be called masons, stone masons - not the secret handshake kind.

Regardless, these guys are starting to ramp up their speed and have fully turned the corner on Margaret Street to get the exterior walls and around the stairway.

67 days in 75 seconds and some stone

                                

Over the last 2 months, things have looked busy from the outside at times, but always busy inside the gates. Once metal framing was up, the Dens glass (yellow board) started around the building and then waterproofing over that (the orange stuff). As answered a few times, that is not the exterior paint job of the building. Eventually (and DW Meyers promises soon), a majority of the building will be clad in the 1'x2' Ariscraft Stone. It's been going up on the backside for a month now

There will be some orange though - in alucabond metal material around both staircases, and, of course, lots of glass that they also say is coming soon.

The birth of a beer line

Monday afternoon, the Draft Doctor came by to see if we could get 100 feet of 3 1/2 inch beer line through a 4" conduit that had 4 - 90 degree turns in it. In laymen's terms - a challenging feat.

We started by running a rope through from the top to the bottom

It went through these bends

After some pushing, tugging and pulling...and some line lube (seriously)



We ended up with one end of the line on the 3rd floor

And another coming out of the 1st floor ceiling-ready for the walk in installation on Monday.

Unfortunately, beer wont be available until mid-summer.

The stone is starting to go up!
